(note: this poem is from a collection I wrote for a project with my long-time partner and fellow writer Gracie Trueblood)
Somewhere beneath that astrological sea
I set my sails & fly the way they take me.
With sun and moon gone singing elsewhere,
it is just myself and the shooting stars; so
I set my sails & fly the way they take me.
Follow that fiery path until we both burn out.
It is just myself and the shooting stars so
so very far from home. I couldn’t help but
follow that fiery path until we both burnt out.
I call out, wishing I believed my pleas mattered
so very far from home. I couldn’t help but
call out to those I love
somewhere beneath that astrological sea.
