With reverie I shake rust
from my bones and again
speak in the attempt to mimic
bards and sirens, to write silent
songs and defy machines.
With the help of an old friend,
and her raven-wit I again
strike the page, letter-strokes
iron-hot and forge a poem
of return, a trumpet calling
me home.
